New Waves was published by One World/Penguin Random House in March of 2020 and lauded in reviews from The New York Times Book Review, Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal, and The New Yorker. It was named as one of the best books of 2020 by NPR, the New York Public Library, Parade, and Kirkus.

His upcoming novel, Mỹ Documents, will be published by One World on April 8, 2025.

EDITING for MAGAZINES

At The Verge, Nguyen has edited long-form narrative features about technology, business, and labor. His stories have been finalists for the Pulitzer Prize and the National Magazine Award.

He has also edited cover stories for New York Magazine about delivery workers, violence against Asian Americans, and the hidden labor of AI. Previously, he was the culture editor at GQ, and published profiles, fashion portfolios, and front-of-book packages.

MANUSCRIPT EDITING

Nguyen edits book-length projects on a selective basis. Recently, he developed and edited Zoë Schiffer’s Extremely Hardcore, an exposé into Elon Musk’s takeover of Twitter and the shifting labor movement in Silicon Valley.
